Bui Vien Street

Bui Vien is a street in district 1, Ho Chi Minh City, where many Western tourists choose to stay and relax (most of them are backpackers). The name “Pho Tay” (European Street)  is named by the local resident. This is the multinational and multicultural place because not only western tourists but also other locals and foreigners visit here. Bui Vien Street (Saigon) and Ta Hien Street (Hanoi) are the two most famous "European Street" in Vietnam, are must-visit places when visiting these two cities.

HOW TO GO

 

From Ben Thanh Market to Bui Vien Street is about 1 km, you can get there on foot. You should use google maps to get there easier. 

In departure, you enter: "Ben Thanh Market".

In destination, you enter: "Bui Vien".

Then click on "Start" and follow the instructions.

Similarly, if you depart from another place.

If you walk, you will take about 15 minutes.

If you get there by taxi/grab the cost around 20,000 dong.

  2. Five Oysters: Address: 234 - 236 Bui Vien; Main food: Saigon Streetfood,  Price: 30,000 - 80,000 dong/dish; Opening: 8:00 AM - 11:00 PM.
  3. Kebab Station: Address: 230 Bui Vien; Price: 50,000 -110,000 dong; Opening: 11 AM - 0 AM.
  4. Pho Hai Thien: 14 Bui Vien, Main food: Pho; Price: 35,000 - 55,000 dong; Opening: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM.

EXPERIENCES

 

Most of the foods are the typical street foods of Saigon, if possible, you should come here once, surely you will not be disappointed! The best time to visit is at night.

Choosing a restaurant on the roadside, enjoy some bottles of Saigon beer with a few street foods, watch the passers-by, and maybe you will love Saigon from this moment. Saigon beer is about 20 000 - 30 000 Dong /1 bottle. Foods are about 50 000 - 100 000 Dong/1 dish, it's listed in most restaurants here.

Prices are affordable, however, you should see the prices on menus before you buy (These places haven't menus, you should ask prices directly).

Some other streets were well known as European Street as Pham Ngu Lao, De Tham.

You can rent a hotel in this place with reasonable prices, the majority of the shops open until midnight or all night.

Bui Vien street will block vehicles at the weekend (7:00 pm - 2:00 am), just for walking, you should come here at this time.

Bui Vien Street is one of the top 10 Places to Visit in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

 

NOTE

Bui Vien street is always crowded with people from many different places, so you should keep your belongings carefully such as cell phones, cash, and wallets. There have been a few thefts here.
